About me

Hello! My name is Lena Sędkiewicz, and I've been a Web Developer since 2021. I love programming, although it's not the only universe I can call home. However, I spend most of my time there, and it's where I navigate my professional paths.

Since childhood, I've enjoyed the ordered world of numbers. Along the way, however, as I discovered the world, I discovered other, non-mathematical talents. Over time, however, I noticed that I derived the most pleasure from intellectual challenges, combining theoretical considerations with their practical implementation, and I found this in programming.

The projects that programmers create require understanding the problem, assessing the feasibility of possible solutions and their complexity, and then creating code that is both functional and valuable to the business. And I like to balance between creativity and pragmatism, which allows me to transform abstract concepts into working systems.

The Programming Universe

So far in IT, I've followed the frontend path (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and gained experience with libraries, frameworks, and solutions such as Bootstrap, Tailwind, and Vue. The experience I've gathered has allowed me to define my favorite tech stack: TypeScript, React, and Vite, with which I associate my programming development. Along the way, I also had the opportunity to familiarize myself with other topics crucial for writing this type of code, such as technical SEO and related code optimization, accessibility, and manual testing.

At the same time, in my development, I don't shy away from backend, which has been present in my work since the very beginning of my IT adventure. I gained my first experiences occasionally writing in PHP and NodeJS. Currently, I'm investing my time in learning Python and Linux. This backend choice is related to my passion, which is cybersecurity in the area of application security (AppSec).

My dream is to become a security champion, that is, a programmer supporting the team in creating secure code and working closely with the security team. To achieve this goal, I want to develop as a FrontEnd Developer, then evolve towards a FullStack Developer to become a link between code and cybersecurity. I also consider other development paths, such as remaining a BackEnd Developer writing Python (and Pythonic) code.

The (Not Only) Psychological Universe

The second universe in which I spent a lot of time is the psychological universe. While in it, I completed a master's degree in general psychology (in English), and I also worked as a therapist in a brief solution focused approach, a psychology lecturer, and I also conducted soft skills workshops.

And although I no longer work full-time in the profession, I still delve into psychological knowledge in the existential current, and I also popularize issues related to neurodiversity, mental resilience, and cyberpsychology. I am also familiar with sports psychology.

Because sharing knowledge is my superpower, in my free time I put my thoughts on paper. Some of them end up in a drawer, but some can be read on my blog. Thanks to this, I fulfill one of my life passions, which is writing.

Friendship with the microphone - about journalism and being a speaker

When I was considering my field of study, my dream was radio journalism. I learned the ropes, among other places, in the Four Seasons editorial office, helping with the iconic program "Summer with the Radio." And although this dream didn't quite have a chance to come true, after years I discovered that friendship with the microphone has many faces. And that's how I became a speaker.

In my presentations, I cover topics related to programming, psychology, including soft skills, but also topics related to technical SEO and cybersecurity.
